This project focuses on the design and development of an AI based automated valve orientation system, which plays a critical role in the overall catheter assembly process. While multiple sub components such as the cap, valve, and ring are oriented prior to final assembly, this system is specifically built for the automated orientation of the valve. By leveraging AI-driven vision and control techniques, the system ensures precise valve alignment, enabling reliable downstream assembly operations. The solution minimizes manual handling, improves process efficiency, and ensures consistency in catheter manufacturing.
The system uses an AI vision model to detect whether the valve is in the top (correct) or bottom (incorrect) orientation. When a bottom orientation is identified, the flipper mechanism is automatically engaged to rotate the valve into the correct position, ensuring accuracy in the assembly process.
